A holder of an MSc in Finance from London Business School and an MBA, DIC, BEng, ACGI from Imperial College, Tareq brings over fifteen years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, project management & financing, restructuring and financial advisory. He joins QFIB from First Energy Bank in Bahrain, where as a Senior Executive Director, was a member of the senior management team that led the establishment of the bank. During his tenure at First Energy Bank, Tareq spearheaded the effort on a number of acquisition transactions in the energy sector including upstream oil and gas, midstream and downstream.
Prior to that, Tareq served as First Vice President, Global Project & Structured Finance, at Arab Banking Corporation in Bahrain, where he led a number of high profile regional lending transactions in the various industry sectors including oil and gas, petrochemicals, power, shipping and aviation. In addition, Tareq led a number of financial advisory mandates in the GCC and North Africa including the advisory mandate for National Oil Corporation, Libya.
Prior to ABC, Tareq worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Jordan Investment Trust where he was responsible for advising companies on their IPO process on Amman stock exchange and have further concluded the acquisition of Advanced Engineering Technologies Company of Jordan.
